Speaking of Stephenson.

Excellent on the Evil Dead clip. I find the Diamond Age miniseries to be curious. Considering that most either go for the schlocky fun of Snowcrash or the more detailed fun of the Cryptonomicon; I wouldn't have thought that Diamond Age would be the first out of the box.

I also agree about moving to plastic. I mean a large portion of the status quo already does this. I know I do.

I was honestly expecting the silver handle as well, but alas it was not meant to be.

And with the teapot story, I so thought it was going to end with him buying/finding an old silver handle that he just kept around for no good reason; only to find that it was the match to the teapot under his crawlspace.

On the penny/nickel thing. Those prices are largely indicative to an increase in metal costs. Which is probably temporary at best. How about we just don't make new ones for a while? Of course, everyone would run around, then, and either 1) collect them or 2) smelt them...so soon the penny and the nickel would be off the market.
