Being this first ones here, everyone seems to be finding our room and coming by to hangout. Tonight should be fun....we'll see. No one has made a liquor store run yet. Kinsey is attempting to iron out the scripting issues with the photobooth currently, and with any luck we'll have it setup for later.

Things learned from the trip:

  • I don't know what an orange light means.
  • There is no exit 23 on I285.
  • Greg's car is too small.
  • Holiday Inn in Doraville's idea of an executive suite is.....lacking.

I'll report back in later.

So yeah, I've been up since my last post, standing most of that, watching people's talks and conversing with the other con goers. My mood has been steadily moving to irritably angry due to lack of sleep from the night before and just general exhaustion from keeping up with everything today. I haven't had anything to eat all day, with the exception of a free McDonald's double cheese burger that LadyMerlin graciously offered, but thankfully pizza is on the way. Probably contributed to the crankiness I'm experiencing. Just about everyone has left for Dave&Buster's for a couple of hours which I opted out of in order to eat and take a small nap before everyone gets back and the party begins. On the bright side I got a couple of t-shirts and a pilsner glass to commemorate this outing.

Lots of good talks today. Learned a lot, which I plan on sharing once I have time to collect my notes and possibly link to a few of the presentations. Got some confirmation of some strange goings on that I have noticed over the past month or so, which is kind of cool, and got some heads up on some upcoming talks at other cons that might be of interest. More on these things later.

Seriously 9am.....9am! Way too early to be going to a talk, especially after getting in bed around 4am lastnight. On the bright side, all I have to do is stumble down the hall to room 312, where all the talks are being held. I'm toally going to end up taking a nap before tonight.

So many pictures to upload, but you're all going to have to wait for those, as I have no intention of getting my gallery owned. Most people were cool about getting their picture taken, namely because I wasn't annoying them with a flash or taking particularly embarassing photos, but some people just had to be bitches about it and make it out like they were the only ones I was taking pictures of. When are people going to figure out that if you're in a room full of people, and a handful of them have cameras, then yes you're going to end up in a few pictures? No, you're not the center of the universe....get over it(you know who you are).

Talked to a lot of people lastnight, which is what I would say half the fun of coming to cons like this is. I mean where else are you going to fine this kind of concentration of people interested in the same things you are. You can essentially talk shop without being annoying or boring the person you're talking to, to death.

People are starting to show up for the con now. Already got a job offer, we'll see how that pans out. Still waiting on the con organizers, the schwag, and the badges to get here. Tension appears to be building as unbadged outerz0ne people hangout outside the interz0ne inner sanctum. More people are asking questions about.

Just got here and already subverting people from interz0ne! Whole crowd of people down stairs asked Kris and I if we were here for interz0ne, because I guess they recognized us from other cons. Told them we weren't here for interz0ne, we were here for outerz0ne, which they knew about and started asking us questions. One kid asked if it was like interz0ne, and his friend said, "no, it's better!". We've already turned six people! More later.....
