origami experiments
Ok, so the buckyball thing didn't pan out, can't be made with pinwheel sonobe modules. I'll try again soon with another type of sonobe module. This is some of the stuff I've been experimenting with lately. Made the first one by accident one day then realized I could make it a quarter the size(second image) and at some point I figured out how to link cubes inline(third image). Don't know what I'm going to do with all this yet, but I'll keep playing...

Now let's say that each vertex consist of a stellated octahedron, which is 12 pieces of paper, and each edge consists of three pieces of paper connecting the stellated octahedron. A truncated icosahedron(buckyball) has 60 vertices and 90 edges.
(60x12)+(90x3)=720+270=990 pieces of paper.
